Role of CSDs in Political Disturbance CSDs must determine certain arrangements that shall take place in the case of political disturbance in order to reduce effects related to suspension of operations Such arrangements must take into consideration the following: • The existence of a sound backup and recovery plans • Providing logistical support and determining key employees and means for their attendance • The ability to minimize the Settlement cycle to a one day basis allowing the implantation of DvP till the last trading day • Cooperation with involved parties, mainly Settlement Bank and related Market participants' Banks for the purpose of completing due payment cycle 2

Role of CSDs in Political Disturbance • Allowing investors to receive any other services not related to trading, such as Free of payment transfers involving inheritance, family and other transfers • Conducting corporate actions must take in consideration the action's nature weather voluntary or mandatory as well as ending the procedures of pre- arranged corporate actions • It is vital for CSDs to be able at all times and circumstances to identify the real owner of the equities, in order to best comply to any official orders to place restriction on such person 3
