BLIP Operations Status Update: Running at 139 MeV with Beam Current and Irradiation Details
The BLIP facility is currently operational at 139 MeV with an average beam current reaching up to 98.3 µA, peaking at 103.3 µA on February 26. The ion source has been challenged by a pulse timing issue that has reduced the effective pulse rate to below the anticipated 6.67 Hz, which is expected to be fixed during the next maintenance day. Research irradiation commenced on March 1, and there have been no target issues this week. Overall, the operations have been running for 161 hours.
