  1. CSC Operation reportJan.19-25, 2012 M. Ignatenko (UCLA) CSC Operation and DPG meeting CERN January 25, 2012

  2. LV connectivity test was done – see today Victor’s report. Sys Tech Can-bus interface test – failed. It looks like there are digital data losses. The problem is similar to the one we had before the Can-bus communication had been improved. LV

  3. After switching the system on the CSC-PC1 was in a PCI parity error. Then there were a few losses of communication with the plus side. Reseating the D-link card fixed the problem. We couldn’t configure FED1 crate – no VME communication. Swapping the CAEN crate controllers resolved the problem. The first local run in 2012 was taken on Jan. 20. We found that the system almost in the state when we switched it off except for one CFEB, which has been fixed later (bent pins). Optical link problems

  4. This chamber was not operational since November 2010. It was found that 7 V digital was OK. Chamber has been unmasked. The voltage reading = 6.2 V. Now this chamber is in readout but the timing is not optimal and has to be improved. ME-1/1/30

  5. The last time CFEB firmware was downloading in May. 2010. Many EPROMs have been reloaded because EPROM lost information, but many board never been touched. To reduce the EPROM problem rate the EPROM contents have been refreshed in all working CFEBs on Jan.21-22. Now the monitoring whether the FPGA are configured or not can give us more information about EPROM problem. CFEB EPROM firmware download

  6. At first we could not take local runs. Preparations for switching to SLC5 was premature for the Local DAQ. Supervisor v10.06.00 already had some changes in anticipation of the transition to 64-bit platform, but the other applications are not yet compatible with it. In v10.06.01, those changes have been undone. The bug that caused the Configuration Check failure after power on has been found. A fix is put into patch 10.6.1. EMU Lib 10.6 deployment

  7. Multiple HV trips of ME-4/1 Monday Jan 23 -17:45 multiple HV trips were detected on ME-4 station. Most likely the X-ray survey of the beam pipe cause these trips. We hadn’t been notified that the X-ray source was so powerful and could cause our chamber tripped.

  8. New DCC firmware test We were able to start the test: • The first step – reproduce the DDU-DCC out of sync error – done. The test is going on for better understanding the origin of the problem. 2. The second step – test the new DCC firmware.
