  1. Pen Pals Letter Writing to enhance students’ writing

Pen Pals • Elementary level students can practice writing through a variety of pen pals. • They can be assigned pen pals within the classroom, with other classrooms through the internet, students in other countries, or adults in the community. • A field trip to the post office can enhance learning about writing and sending letters.

  3. Standards • LA.K.3.2.1: The student will draft writing by drawing, telling, or writing about a familiar experience, topic or text. • LA.K.3.4.3: The student will edit for correct use of end punctuation, including periods, question marks, and exclamation points.
