Articles of confederation The articles of confederation was ratified in March of 1781 • It was weak • It only had one branch of government weak & bad!!!
Executive branch • The executive branch is the branch that the president is in • Barack Obama is in the executive branch • Commander in chief, head of state, chief of staff, chief executive, and chief legislator are all the rolls that the executive branch has to do. • President can declare war BOOM!!!
Judicial branch • The judicial branch applies laws • The judicial branch ensures equal justice under law • This branch has da supreme court. • The supreme court is the highest court in the united states
The legislative branch • Legislatures are also known as the parliament or the congress • They make laws • They also vote on bills • There are 100 members of the legislature
James Madison • James was born on march 16, 1751 • He died on June 28, 1836 • He wrote over a third of the federalist papers • He wrote it with Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson
