What is the IOPD mission? • The International Observatory on Participatory Democracy (IOPD) is a space open to all cities in the world, associations, organizations and research centers interested in learning about, exchanging impressions and applying experiences of participatory democracy on a local scale with the aim of deepening the roots of democracy in municipal government. • The International Observatory on Participatory Democracy (IOPD) has two kind of members: • - Associate member: local and regional governments, and other levels of governments. • - Collaborating member: civil society organizations and research centers that works around participatory democracy.

  3. Award "Best Practice in Citizen Participation" • The Award "Best Practice in Citizen Participation" is an award given annually by the International Observatory on Participatory Democracy (IOPD) to recognize public policies implemented by local governments.
