  1. HURSTWOOD CHURCH NOTICES. WC Sunday 1st November 2009. A warm welcome to everyone. This is the online version of the notices displayed at the front of the church on a Sunday morning before the service - therefore some notices may not be relevant to online viewers. Don’t forget that details of all our services and activities can be found on the Church website at www.hurstwoodchurch.org.uk.

  2. Monthly Diaries. Please note that the monthly diary for November is now available. Please take a copy from the table in the tea room. The diary lists the dates and times of all our services and activities for the month. A copy of the current monthly diary is also on our website : www.hurstwoodchurch.org.uk

  3. Next Week’s Rota

  4. Rob Whittaker Bible Study. The Rob Whittaker Bible Study will continue on Tuesday 3rd November at 7:30pm. This will be the final part of this Bible study series. Rob’s study will focus on “Moving the Church from average to awesome” and will potentially have significant impact on our Church at Hurstwood. Don’t miss it !

  5. Moving our Church from average to awesome. Please note that all prayer meetings will be cancelled on Wednesday 11th November and we will be holding a meeting at the Church instead at 7:30pm to discuss Rob Whittaker’s Bible study. All welcome.

  6. Combined Prayer Meetings. Don’t forget the combined prayer meeting on Wednesday 4th November at 7:30pm – that’s this Wednesday ! Men’s Christmas Social. Due to lack of interest the men’s Christmas social to Belle Vue dog races has been cancelled.

  7. Over 50s Meal. Please register your name on the form on the back of the tea room door if you wish to attend the over 50s meal on 6th November. Please see Mary Cliff if you are willing to help. Word for Today. Upcoming copies of Word for Today can be found on the table in the tea room. Please see Sue Stockburn if you have any queries.

  8. Church Christmas Party. The Church Christmas party will be held on Friday 4th December at 7:30pm in the Dr. Iven Suite at Burnley Football Club. Cost of tickets is: Adults - £13.00 11 – 16 yrs and OAPs - £6.00 Infants and Juniors - £3.00 Pre-school – Free of charge. Please buy your tickets from Sue Bentley before 15th November.

  9. Ladies’ Christmas Social The ladies’ Christmas social will be held at Gala Bingo in Burnley, and there will be the option to go for a curry meal afterwards. Please register your name on the list in the tearoom if you wish to attend. Details are: Meet at Gala Bingo at 6:45pm on Friday 20th November. Cost is £14.50 per person which includes 9 games. The last game is at 9:05pm.

  10. Samaritan Purse. Please register your name on the form, on the notice board in the tea room, if you would like to help with the Samaritan Purse project. Please see Sue Grimshaw if you need further details. Please return your boxes by 15th November. Olive Grove Project. Please pass clothes for the Olive Grove Project to Sue Bentley by 1st November. Winter clothes only please. Financial contributions towards cost of shipping will be gratefully received.

  11. Christ Harvest Church. On Nov 7th, 8th and 9th Messianic Jew David Turner will be visiting Christ Harvest Church(healing ministry). Meetings start at 7:00pm and all are welcome.

  12. Prayer Requests. • Please continue to pray for healing for Nancy Sharples, Lynne Lord, Brian Lord, Sue Grimshaw, Mark Jefferson, Agnes Torz Margaret Jackson, Ivan Walsh, June Lord, Donna Riley’s Mum (Jean), Damola’s Mum, Esther (John Sansom’s little cousin) and Harry Marsden (Tracy’s Grandad). • Please pray for Richie Norman (Paul Thornton’s friend) who has recently been diagnosed with stomach cancer. • Please pray for all our Sunday School children and all the children at Woodtop. • Please pray for all our students - Heidi Gastall, Mikey Glass, Will Stockburn, Liz Stockburn, Paula Sanderson and Josh Cliff.

  13. Security Notice. If you are the last person to leave the building please ensure that the boiler has been switched off, the heating has been turned down, that ALL external doors are bolted or locked (whether you have used them or not) and that all lights are turned off. Many thanks. Health and Safety Notice. Please would everyone ensure that the children’s toys, that are in the tearoom, are removed once Sunday School has finished (i.e. dolls prams, bricks on wheels etc. that are at risk of being ran into the back of people ). Thank you.
