  1. HURSTWOOD CHURCH NOTICES. WC Sunday 16th August 2009. A warm welcome to everyone. If you are visiting us for the first time today we would like to encourage you to sign our visitors’ book which can be found in the tea room (near the door as you come in). Don’t forget that details of all our services and activities can be found on the Church website at www.hurstwoodchurch.org.uk.

  2. Monthly Diaries. Please note that the monthly diary for August is now available. Please take a copy from the table in the tea room. The diary lists the dates and times of all our services and activities for the month. A copy of the current monthly diary is also on our website : www.hurstwoodchurch.org.uk

  3. Next Week’s Rota

  4. Over 50s’ Meal. Please register your name on the form at the back of the door in the tea room if you wish to attend the over 50s’ meal on 4th September. Please inform Mary Cliff if you are able to help at the above event.

  5. Ladies’ Breakfast Please register your name on the form on the back of the tea room door if you wish to attend the ladies’ breakfast in September. Men’s Conference. Please pay a £10.00 deposit to Sue Bentley ASAP if you are attending the men’s conference in September.

  6. John o’Groats to Lands End Bike Ride. Please sign the sponsorship form, on the notice board in the tea room, if you would like to help Andy, Will and Michael raise funds for East African Outreach. Please pray for the group who are currently undertaking this bike ride. Wedding Photos Please collect a CD from Sue Bentley if you have any photos of Liz and Heath’s wedding on a digital camera. Please download the photos onto the CD and return to Liz and Heath.

  7. Trip To Ingleton Falls. Heath Stockburn is organising a trip to Ingleton Falls. Details are as follows: Date: Saturday 22nd August Cost of Coach : Approx. £7.50 pp Cost of entry to Ingleton Falls : Family = £9, Adult (16yrs plus) = £4.50, Child = £2.00. Leave Hurstwood at 9.00am and return approx. 3.30pm You will need to take your own packed lunch or buy lunch from the shop at Ingleton Falls. Please register your name on the list at the back of the door if you wish to attend.

  8. Street Pastors. Street Pastors is a new initiative which has been introduced to the UK and which has seen the British police force turn to the Church for help in tackling social problems encountered in many towns and cities. The Burnley police force have requested a Street Pastors team to be established in the town. Please see Eddie Cliff for further details, or if you are interested in becoming a volunteer.

  9. Prayer Requests. • Please continue to pray for healing for Nancy Sharples, Lynne Lord, Brian Lord, Sue Grimshaw, Mark Jefferson, Agnes Torz Margaret Jackson, Ivan Walsh, June Lord, Donna Riley’s Mum (Jean) and Damola’s Mum. • Please pray for Richie Norman (Paul Thornton’s friend) who has recently been diagnosed with stomach cancer. • Please pray for Natalie Mellor as she prepares to return to Capernwray. • Please pray for all our students - Heidi Gastall, Mikey Glass, Will Stockburn and Josh Cliff.

  10. Security Notice. If you are the last person to leave the building please ensure that the boiler has been switched off, the heating has been turned down, that ALL external doors are bolted or locked (whether you have used them or not) and that all lights are turned off. Many thanks. Health and Safety Notice. Please would everyone ensure that the children’s toys, that are in the tearoom, are removed once Sunday School has finished (i.e. dolls prams, bricks on wheels etc. that are at risk of being ran into the back of people ). Thank you.

  11. Car Park Notice. Please note that no cars should be parked in front of the Farmer’s gate, or on the bridge leading to the car park. Car parking spaces in front of the Church should be reserved for the elderly or those with walking difficulties.
