He did bring a wooden box containing all of his father’s stereographs. These stereographs were contained in fragile glass plates. In 2008, Robert Frank took these photos in person to Steidl publishing in Göttingen (Germany), where they were scanned in tritone in preparation for the book. F.P. is a revelation of the unknown photographer Henry Frank, a historical photographic document of the early twentieth century, it also serves as a new chapter in Robert Frank’s bookmaking.
