II The Allies Strike Back http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VqQAf74fsE – FDR addresses congress • US Avenges PH with Doolittle raids • 16-B52 bombers  proved Japanese were not invincible (big psychological victory) • Battle of Coral See = sea battle fought with planes, ships never see each other • Changed naval warfare • Battle of Midway (TURNING POINT OF THE WAR)= key US airfield • Nimitz allows enemy to attack first then attacks Japanese ships
