Autoklub of the Czech Republic - ACCR • Founded 1904 • Member of the FIA, FIM, Czech Olympic Committee • Management and organization of the automobile sport in the Czech Republic • 750 local clubs, 200.000 individual members • Beginners and young drivers - important very important for the future of the automobile sport • Seminars for drivers organized every year • Safety

  3. FIA Institute • Possibility to receive funding for improvement of young drivers education • Multi year program • Up to 50% of expenses covered • ACCR already received grant for Safety in Rally and Extrication Seminar • In 2011 ACCR decided to improve young drivers program

  4. Grant Application • First time in 2011 • New program – training in the middle of the season • Administrative requirements • Focus on real benefit for participants • Karting and Autocross • Participants from 5 to 14 years of age

  5. Preparation of the courses • Selection of Instructors • Selection of circuits • Small groups of children (5-10) • Parents participation • Timetable

  6. Courses Theoretical part • FIA + ACCR Sporting Rules • Physical preparation • Psychology preparation • Dietary program • Telemetry • Driving techniques

  7. Courses Practical part • Physical preparation before race • Preparation of equipment • Training runs • Training of the starts • Flags • Communication with media

  8. Courses Safety – Important part of Courses • Road safety – theoretical • Road Safety - bikes • Race safety • Safety equipment • Safe behavior on the track • Safe behavior in the paddock

  9. Evolution • Participants (parents) evaluate individual parts of camps • quality of training • quality of instructors • Circuits, quality of services • General organization of camps

  10. 2012 • Application for second year of funding • Improvement of the program • Beginning of the season - April • More participants already registered

Summary • FIA Institute support gave us an opportunity to improve our existing programs • Even if there is certain amount of administrative work involved it is not difficult to fulfill FIA Institute requirements • Very good cooperation and support from the FIA Institute staff • ACCR looks forward to cooperate with the FIA Institute in the future
