Definition of fast food Definition • 1: of, relating to, or specializing in food that can be prepared and served quickly • 2: designed for ready availability, use, or consumption and with little consideration given to quality or significance Characteristics of a Fast Food Restaurant: • Speed of service • Limited table service • Customers order, pay and collect their food at the counter • Food and beverages are served quickly after the order is placed • Food and beverages may be consumed at the premises or “taken out”

Why Fast Food is BAD • Affected Energy Levels -Fast food does not contain the required nutrients for a body to maintain therefore feeling a sense of fatigue or lack of energy. • Large amounts of FAT- fast food contains large amounts of fat the accumulate in your body and in time making you obese. • Catalyst of  diabetes- The large amounts of sugars and simple carbs found in fast food puts stress of ones metabolism inducing type 2 diabetes. • High risk of Heart Disease and High Blood Pressure- Fat and sodium in fast food can contribute to heart disease and high blood pressure by raising blood cholesterol levels and contributing to arterial plaque build up. • The National Bureau for Economic Research published a report in November 2008 that stated that Childhood obesity could be cut by as much as 18 percent if fast-food ads were banned
