High Eb Clarinet imitates sound of Mexican clarinet. Raucous sound created by open strings, handstopping brass and lots of percussion especially guiro, wood block, temple block and tabor. Standard Symphony Orchestra piccolo 2 flutes 2 oboes Cor anglais * Eb clarinet * 2 Bb clarinets bass clarinet * 2 bassoons contrabassoon * 4 horns 3 trumpets 3 trombones tuba timpani percussion piano strings * = not essential to performance tabor guiro woodblock Trumpet ad libs sounds drunk! and plays with wide vibrato to imitate the cornet (B 19-33) temple blocks
