NESCSO aims to enhance communication and collaboration among members for improved outcomes through shared information and joint projects. As a nonprofit corporation, it serves six New England states and UMASS Medical School, funded by annual dues and fees. Services include information exchange, reports, multi-state projects, collaborative solutions exploration, RFP assistance, conference planning, and more. The technology framework comprises the NESCSO website, electronic library, news, state statistics, ONTRAK, project planning, and knowledge management. Collaborative activities involve Commissioner meetings, roundtables, DME initiatives, care collaboration, and educational seminars.
