  4. Booker T vs WEB • 2 African American responses to the civil rights issues of their times • As you watch the video, take down 3 facts you learn about each person http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWmQhnK6xu8 Start at 25 min and watch for 5 minutes

  5. WEB Dubois Questions • Sourcing: What do we think Dubois’ perspective is? Who is the Audience for the Speech? • Contextualizing: How do you think African Americans (especially in the south) at the time were feeling? • Reading Notes: What is the most powerful in the speech? Why?

  6. HW: Epic rap battles • Create a rap for either WEB of Booker T proclaiming why you are the best advocate for African Americans, and more generally just the best person • Your rap must be at least 50 words long, and include historically accurate information from the documents, class notes, or your text book • You should choose a popular song that you want to write you wrap too • If you would like to “Battle” in class on Wednesday, I will give extra credit for excellent performances • You may work with a partner if you would each like to choose a person and create you Rap together like in the video
