  3. Global Communication Effort Plans : • increase number of subscribers • Survey about website and NewsLine • Feature stories on ILC Science and Technology aspects comments, suggestions : newsline@ilcgde.org preprints : preprints@ilcgde.org

  4. weekly meetings are now scheduled • ad-hoc solutions (wiki + phone) • existing solutions to be tested. They need to: • be reliable and efficient • run on ≠ platforms • still work while on the road, or at least when not at home institutes • be user-friendly applications… •  we will choose the best for us Global Communication Effort Communication collaboration tools between communicators:

Open questions : • Simplify endless meetings ? • Easy document exchange and storage ? • Easy slideremote display ? • Single interface for each user, linking to multiple tools (chat, audio-, Web- and video-conferencing, agenda…) ? • … Some ideas need to be tested & developed. European Communication Effort Inform about European scientific process (inside and outside our region) • European funding agencies & research programs ? • Attend and report on interesting meetings and conferences Several Languages… Most of communication material in English. Some will be translated (NEED translators!!) : • Perfect talk, Perfect Poster  YES • Brochure  first English (cost) then translated & adapted

  7. European Communication Effort Dedicated messages • Special fields of interest. (suggestions welcome!) e.g.: • Connection ILC/LHC • Connection ILC/CLIC • Report on activities in the different countries • Evaluate the most appropriate messages (European governments, EU, press, funding agencies)  Asia or Americas ?

European Communication Effort Specificity of European team(internal process) • special care to coordinate the 2 communicators (not exclusive of other communication efforts) • how ?  wait for position to be filled • some ideas: share work thematically, or weekly … ? • work together in same lab for a while?
