COMMUNITY SURVEYS 2009-2010 Average hourly wage $ 8.92 Average annual income $18,553 More than 1/3 of wage earners are low-income by poverty standards even though median income may be reflected in the $45,000 - $50,000 range due to high percentage of retirees (nearly 25%) who bring imported wealth to our counties. THE EMPLOYED What did they say that was different from all respondents? 18.5% of EMPLOYED respondents have a behavioral (mental health) problem at home Time off from work second largest barrier to health care; cost was #1 and was true of all respondents Discrimination ranking for EMPLOYED: (1) race/ethnicity, (2) gender, (3) age COMMUNITY SURVEYS 2009-2010

  15. THE UNEMPLOYED What did they say that was different from all respondents? 56% of UNEMPLOYED have a behavioral problem (mental health) at home.
