This project aims to analyze the impact of a new high school on traffic safety in the study area. It includes data on average daily traffic, crashes, school enrollment, and population to assess potential safety issues. The study will focus on road conditions, traffic operations, and the need for control measures like stop signs.

Other info (some might be updated later) • School enrollment according to the IAHSSA for grades 9 to 11 is 261 (note this does not include 12th grade) • Assume grades 9 to 12 will attend the new high school for now • Population is around 987 residents according to the 2000 census
Preliminary scope of final project • You will need a description of the study area (speed limits, lane configuration, road type, etc) for major roads that will be impacted by the school • What traffic operation safety problems may result from the new school? • Is the stop control at Matthews warranted currently warranted? After school is finished?
