  2. When do I need a Travel Authorization? All travel must be pre-authorized for liability reasons. The approved TA must be submitted to Procurement to: Request a CIT number Book a flight Rent a car Request a lodging exception 2 of 8

  4. CIT Number: Channel Islands Travel Number Submit a Travel Authorization in advance: Destination Dates of travel Purpose Expense estimates Accounting strings Required signatures 4 of 8

The Travel Store If you will be booking airfare you should request a Travel Store account Full legal name Airfare will be billed directly to CI SWABIZ – does not direct bill-travelers must use AMEX or personal credit card Travel Store:http://www.caltravelstore.com/ Travel Store Handbook: http://www.csuci.edu/accountspayable/handbooks.htm 5 of 8

Lodging Exceptions: Allowable lodging rate: $175/night before taxes Submit a Travel Authorization PRIOR to your trip Provide justification for your exception request: Include backup documentation such as conference information, link, & hotel information Note: a CIT number or a Lodging exception will be provided once the exception has been approved. Include that number on your TEC 6 of 8
  7. Planning your trip: Fill out a Travel Authorization form Request a Travel Store account Submit TA to receive a CIT number Request a lodging exception if rate will exceed $175/night Book your flight, hotel, & save every receipt during your travel. Enjoy! 7 of 8
