Certified employee dates to remember • Appointment of staff after February 1. • Notice of nonrenewal of certified limited contracts by May 15. • Notice of salary earlier of either no later than 45 days prior to first student attendance day or June 15. • Restriction on transfers after 30 days prior to first student attendance day except for illness, death or resignation, shift in student population or after merger or due to certification in field. • Reduction in responsibility/pay of teacher and administrator earlier of 90 days prior to first student attendance day or May 15. • Demotion of administrative personnel no later than 45 days prior to first student attendance day or June 15. • Misc.: Resignation by teacher • Certified Reduction in Force (RIF)

  3. Classified Employee Decisions • May 15 for less and more than four (4) year employees. • Look at reasons for non renewals. • Look at your Board Policy for RIF with Classified Employees. • Look at recall provisions.
