Hearing Aid Users Needed for Research Study

The House Ear Institute is seeking hearing aid users aged 18-55 for a research study on essential information for lipreading. Eligible participants must have profound hearing loss in both ears, be experienced hearing aid users, have normal or corrected-to-normal vision, and use English as their primary language. Compensation is $12 per hour, along with mileage reimbursement and parking validation. The study will take 3 to 6 hours at a time convenient for participants. Hearing Aid Users Needed for Research Study We are conducting a research study at the House Ear Institute to determine what information is necessary for lipreading Participants must: Be between 18-55 years of age Have been diagnosed with profound hearing loss in both ears Be experienced hearing aid users Have normal or corrected-to-normal vision Use English as primary language Compensation: $12 per hour, mileage reimbursement, parking validation Location: House Ear Institute, 2100 W. 3rd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90057 Duration: Three to six hours at participant’s convenience Task: Participants will watch a video presentation and identify what is said  Please contact: Ewen Chao (213) 353-7038, or email echao@hei.org
