FOCS – Human Computer Interaction

In this classwork assignment, students will explore the intersection of art and mathematics by completing a cornrow design project. Using the online tutorial at http://csdt.rpi.edu/african/cornrow_curves/cornrow_tutorial.html, each student will create an individual design featuring a minimum of four separate braids. Students are required to document the mathematical concepts involved, including translation, starting point, starting angle, iteration, dilation, and reflection. The final design will be presented through a PowerPoint presentation to be submitted via email.
