This presentation will focus on an elementary school audience. • This presentation will be presented in the Cherokee Elementary Media Center for third grade students. • The purpose of this presentation is to teach students how books are arranged using the organization of the Dewey Decimal Classification System. • In this lesson, students will learn to locate books in the media center using the Dewey Decimal Classification system.

4. What is the Dewey Decimal Classification System? • The Dewey Decimal Classification System provides a system for organizing every book in our library. • Books with similar subjects are grouped together. • The Dewey Decimal Classification System has ten main classes or groups.
