General Update • Planned to get a netbook instead of building a computer • Advantages of using netbook: • Cheaper than building the onboard computer • Can use the netbook’s onboard camera for forward mounted view • Should eliminate the necessity to build a power cable between the robot and computer because netbook has several hours of battery life

  3. Onboard Computer • Total price: $345.34 • No camera • Need to build a power cable between the robot and computer • 1.2 GHz processor speed • Need a USB wireless adapter (included in the total price)

  4. ASUS EEEPC 1015PE • Price: $284.04 (including tax) • Build-in 0.3MP webcam • 2high-speed USB 2.0 ports • Up to 8 hours and 40 minutes of battery life • 1.66 GHz processor speed • Built-in 2.4GHz wireless LAN

  5. For this week and beyond • Order parts needed • Continue building the application • Added minor goal date of Feb 21st • Everyone needs to show some progress towards reaching the individual component deadline
