  2. 1950’s Swimsuit • Women still continued to wear all in one swimwear in the 1950s, rarely wearing a daring two piece bikini.

  3. 1960’s Swimsuit • In the late sixties early seventies, the first bikini came out.

  4. 1970’s Swimsuit • By the mid-70s the one-piece was under threat of extinction due to the popularity of the bikini.

  5. 1980’s Swimsuit • Ladies wore bikinis or a one piece.

  6. 1990’s Swimsuit • In the 1990’s swimwear in general is given an increased focus with the TV show Baywatch.

  7. Current Day Swimsuit • Ladies swimwear has gone back to the 60’s when they wore bathers with midriffs and side pannels.
