This project focuses on improving emergency terminal operations, emphasizing collaboration among key stakeholders: Trafikverket, Jernhusen AB, Baneservice AS, and TX Logistik AB. The work is divided into manageable tasks such as finding suitable parking tracks for un/loading trains, reforming terminal contracts, and establishing agreements with train operators. Additionally, it aims to enhance intermodal transport education through workshops, improving reliability and environmental performance. Success relies on engaging stakeholders and understanding market needs for better operational efficiency.

Theme 2 Arguments • Compared to todays solution an intermodal solution can provide: • Lower costs • Predictable timetable • Better tolerance for variations in volume • Better environmental performance • A good system is more reliable than having to rely on one person
Theme 2, next step • 1. workshop is scheduled to october 26th at Jernbaneverket • Will contain information from the progress in customer offer from Rail Net Europe • Invitations will be sent during this week, potential participants will also be contacted per phone
Theme 3, Pilot study N-Pl • Market can not on its own afford to establish new intermodal routes N-Pl • Funding from Marco Polo programme is one possibility • In N-Pl relations several transport missions must be combined • To establish sufficient market knowledge to establish a Marco Polo application is costly – market does not risk it on their own
Theme 3 Challenges • Volumes in N-Pl must be known on city or ZIP-code level to • Find the best destinations • Identify 4-5 shippers to be base customers • Information with necessary level of detail might exist in Norwegian customs statistics or in Polish statistics • But this kind of statistics is not systematized
Theme 3, Task • Put together a PPP that forms the core of a Marco Polo application team • Find finacing for market survey incl. Identification of shippers
