Violin ♫ Highest instrument in the string family ♫ Played by holding it under the chin and resting it on the shoulder ♫ Made of many pieces of wood glued together creating a hollow body ♫ Sound is made by the vibrating strings resonating in the hollow body ♫ Four strings made of nylon or steel are wrapped around the pegs and attached to the tailpiece at the bottom "Flight of the Bumblebee" Violin Solo

Viola ♫ Lower than the violin; tone is darker ♫ Played by holding it under the chin and resting it on the shoulder ♫ Made of many pieces of wood glued together creating a hollow body ♫ Sound is made by the vibrating strings resonating in the hollow body ♫ Four strings made of nylon or steel are wrapped around the pegs and attached to the tailpiece at the bottom "Perfect" Viola Solo

Cello ♫ Much larger than the violin; tenor voice ♫ Played by holding it between the knees, sitting down and bowing across the body ♫ Made of many pieces of wood glued together creating a hollow body ♫ Sound is made by the vibrating strings resonating in the hollow body ♫ Four strings made of nylon or steel are wrapped around the pegs and attached to the tailpiece at the bottom "A Thousand Years" by The Piano Guys

String (Double) Bass ♫ Lowest instrument in the string family ♫ Played by standing and/or sitting on a high stool behind the instrument ♫ Made of many pieces of wood glued together creating a hollow body ♫ Sound is made by the vibrating strings resonating in the hollow body ♫ Four strings made of nylon or steel are wrapped around the pegs and attached to the tailpiece at the bottom "Pirates of the Caribbean" String Bass Solo

Harp ♫ Has 45 strings stretched across a frame shaped like a triangle ♫ Has 7 pedals at the bottom to adjust the length of the strings to produce the different notes ♫ Played by sitting behind the instrument and leaning it against the body ♫ Strings are plucked by hand while the pedals are played with the feet ♫ Weigh approximately 80 pounds "Beauty & the Beast" Harp Solo

Guitar ♫ A fretted musical instrument (fret = metal strips across the neck) ♫ Typically played with both hands, strumming or plucking with either a guitar pick or fingers/fingernails of one hand, and “fretting” with the fingers of the other hand ♫ Several types of guitars (pictured here: Acoustic, Electric, and Bass) "Coming Home" by Keith Urban
