Computer Class Expectations Fall 2012 Mrs. Mautz
Expectations • You are tardy unless you are: • Lined up against the wall • Quietly waiting for instruction • Once you are in line, you are ready for class to start • This has been seen in the past: • Hacky-sack, running to the line as the bell rings, bad words/embarrassing things said • C-Hall may be given if above behavior is seen
Expectations • Contract is required for computer usage! • There will be a seating chart! • I will decide the seating chart, not you.
Expectations • Your experience varies, and I expect everyone to respect that • Advanced learners help others! • Due dates are firm, even if you are absent • www.deltaschools.com/groups/dmstechninjas • Genuine presentations are a part of this class. I even have a rubric!
Free Time • It happens! • You may go to approved websites • These are posted around the room • The Butler Effect: Your work must be great before you play • You must always be willing to help others
Your Grade • Matrix/Work Ethic (30%): • Each day you earn participation points • Being in line before class • Participation level • Behavior • Assessment (70%) • One per week • Final product of a project • Presentations • Unit quizzes • A bad grade/zero can KILL your grade!
Focus of the Class • Digital literacy/citizenship • Microsoft Word • Microsoft PowerPoint • Microsoft Excel • Presentations • There will be other projects assigned, but the above will be the main focus
Communication • All assignments, due dates, and expectations will be posted on my wiki. You will be expected to check this and be ready on the due dates. • www.deltaschools.com/groups/dmstechninjas
End of Class • Log off the computers, even the empty ones around you • Make sure headphones are put away • Push your chair in, and stand behind it until I dismiss you • Do not leave the computer area until I give you permission
