  2. VCH3 Words 1-3 • Summon (Verb) to send or call for EX: Mrs. Leon summons students to the office each morning. 2. Typically (adv) normally or usually Ex: I typically assign homework each night. 3. Procrastinate (verb) to put off doing Ex: When I don’t want to do something I like to procrastinate.

  3. VCH3 Words 4 & 5 4. Distraction (noun) something that takes attention away from a place Ex: Announcements at school can be a distraction, but provide important information to students and teachers. 5. Emerge (verb) to come out of Ex: Each February the Ground Hog emerges to see his shadow or not.

  4. VCH3 Words 6-8 6. Dismayed (verb) to sadden or distress Ex: When I heard that my grandmother died I was dismayed. 7. Critical (adj) finding faults Ex: Sometimes coaches can be too critical of players. 8. Aloof (adj) distant or emotionally unattached; not caring Ex: Middle School students are often thought of as aloof.
