  2. SENT • World Population 7 BILLION • Christianity World Wide 2 BILLION • U.S. Population 316 million • 1 in 5 were in church last week • LCMS lost over 30,000 in 2012

  3. Questions • “How then, can they call on the one they have not believed in?” • “How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?” • “How can they hear without someone telling them?” • “How can anyone tell them unless they are SENT?” Rom 10:14

  4. What does this mean • “Follow Me I will make youfishers of men…” Luke 4 • “Go and make disciples of all people baptizing teaching them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them all things whatsoever I have commanded you.” Matt 28

  5. What is a Disciple • Follows Jesus and shows others how to do the same. • Attends worship • Immersed in God’s Word • Yielded to the Spirit • Is being discipled and is discipling others • Is in a relationship with other Christians • Generously gives to others and the Church

  13. The Need for Simple Clarity • What are we DISCIPLING people to do? • To enjoy people • To seek, recognize and respond to what Jesus is already doing the lives of the people we are enjoying. • To show others how to do the same • Bring them to a missional community with you…
