Opening • Watch “Concerning Hobbits” from TLOTR – add to your Bubble map as needed. • W2W Strategy A- What I thought you taught about Vocabulary Words • Write the prompt at the top of your journal page. • Using your list of words from yesterday, list these words you will need to write an accurate and complete entry of what you were taught. • As you write a paragraph, explain each word you use from the list. • Let a peer read your entry. He/she will circle the words that you have used from the list.

  6. Work Period • Continue reading chapter 1 of The Hobbit. • Using 2 column notes, take notes on the reading, focusing on the literary terms • plot, character, literary elements, style, and allusion.

  7. Closing • Complete in your Writer’s Journal, pg. __ • W2W Strategy B – Acrostic – Bilbo Baggins – using 10 of the 12 letters – describe Bilbo and what you have learned from the text. • Be sure to log in your table of contents. • CRCT QOTD – sticky note.
