  1. Homeroom Good morning! Please take out your Bibles and spend the next few moments in quiet reflection or prayer.

  2. Bell-work Read the poem “Ithaca” (handout)-highlight/take notes on it! How might this poem relate to the Hero’s Journey archetype? Consider: What do you think this poem means? What is “Ithaca”? What does “Ithaca” mean to you? What are you journeying/returning to?

  3. You, our story’s hero, have entered into a world of adventure, defeated the dragon and are now ready to return home… Classwork • Draw a map to aid you on your return journey • This map should cover the steps in the return • Draw a picture (or put together a collection) of “keepsakes” or “mementos” that you are bringing back with you to commemorate your trip—these should reflect the hero’s journey stages • EX: the “booty (boon)”, a “dragon scale” or a picture of your with your “mentor”
