Alisa Ingle Advanced Photography 2010
Artist Statement City Scapes My current photography interest is city landscapes. I travel to Downtown Sacramento. At the beginning of the school year, my project was pet portraits, but I switched to this project a few months ago. I was connecting with my other project, but I really feel this one. It is challenging finding the right angles and getting the sky just perfect. The challenge is definitely worth it. When I go on a photo shoot, the first thing I look for is really unique architecture. This is why I go to downtown, the buildings are older and you cant find any building exactly like the ones there. I like to shoot midday, when the sun is the highest in the sky. The lighting has to be perfect to really light up my subject and sky. I also like to shoot in different angels, such as getting down on the ground and shooting upwards. My inspiration is just the beauty of the city. I really love when I find a really interesting building that has a lot of character. I can take a building, and make it my own. I want to show the city in a new interesting way. I only use natural light, and I want the effect to be stunning. I am really into what I do, and I hope I get to continue it in the future.
