  1. How do I check out a book from the DCHS Media Center? Library Card Answer: The DCHS Media Center is a branch of the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library. So…. In order to check out a book from the DCHS Media Center, you must have a library card from IMCPL.

  2. How long is the loan period at DCHS? Books checked out from the DCHS Media Center are due two weeks from the check out date.

  3. How may I renew my book if I wish to keep it longer than the loan period? Use the number on the back of your library card to log in to your account at www.imcpl.org. You may renew items from any computer as long as the items are not overdue or on hold for another patron! Use this number to log in to your IMCPL account. Your PIN is the last 4 digits of the barcode!

  4. How may I borrow books from other IMCPL branches? Do I have to go to those other branches? You do not have to go to another IMCPL branch in order to borrow one of their books! With a few clicks, books from all over the county will be delivered for you right here to DC!! Locate the item you would like to borrow on the IMCPL website. If the item is not located in the DCHS Media Center, click …and type in your library card number!
