Jupiter the Gas Giant Jupiter is composed mostly of the gas Hydrogen There are considerable amounts of Helium, with smaller amounts of Methane (CH4),Ammonia (NH3) and Water (H2O), all of which contain hydrogen. This is why it is called a Gas-Giant. Jupiter’s composition is much like the Solar Nebula that formed the solar system
