  3. Think back: What is the continental crust made of? “Sial” Less dense material float to the top Oceanic Crust? “Sima” dense layer of basalt underneath the less dense material

  4. Theory of Isotacy • Constant attempt of continental block (sial) to achieve a state of equilibrium • Theory that explains that continents are “floating” on dense material *take a look at pg. 89*
