This project entails proposing a research initiative that will be designed collaboratively by teams. Participants will identify a significant research question and choose appropriate data sources and analysis methods. The project will delve into both basic (or pure) research aimed at understanding organizational issues and applied research focused on solving specific business problems. The findings may either enhance general knowledge or provide targeted solutions applicable only within a single organization. Team membership must be submitted by tomorrow.

Assessment • Research Proposal – Teams will propose a research project and design it. Your proposal will be presented at the end the workshop. Significant choices include the research question, data sources and data analysis.
Basic (or Pure) Research • Done chiefly to enhance the understanding of organizational problems • If a solution is found to a problem it should be generalizable
Applied Research • Done with the intention of applying the findings to the resolution of a specific business problem. • The problem solution may not be generalizable outside the specific problem or outside the organization
Project Teams • Must choose teams tonight – hand in your membership list tomorrow.
