  3. Your research experience: • Finding sources • MLA formatting • Developing thesis • Including evidence in body paragraphs • Expanding on evidence/providing original analysis

Your prompt, roughly, will be to research a topic related to American culture, identity, and history. • Many of these topics have probably already been addressed in some way in your first semester class. • While many of these topics are addressed in American literature, you are not required to limit your research to just their importance in literature.
