  1. Senior Project and You Culminating Project for High School Graduation!

  2. Why do I have to do this? Every School in Washington must follow the same requirements mandated through the Office of Public Instruction! A. Encourage students to think analytically, logically and creatively and to integrate experience and knowledge to solve problems. B. Give students a chance to explore a topic in which they have a great interest. C.Offer students an opportunity to apply their learning in a “real world" way.

  3. What does this mean to me? • SIX Main Components: • PROPOSAL • RESEARCH • PHYSICAL PROJECT • REFLECTION • LOGS • PRESENTATION • MLA Format (includes 3 books)

  4. The Proposal • More than one way to approach this… • Make it something you care about! • Make it something you can finish from beginning to end!

  5. The Proposal Topic Must • Have a lot of potential to expand • Be research relevant • Can be community based • A challenge for growth • Potential for learning is high • Paper Advisor and Expert Advisor identified • Any Costs are identified

  6. Proposal Sample Items • Address • Date • Greeting • Intro-Brief Bio and interests • Research intro statement/Prior Knolwedge • Project Overview: Outline of Plan, Focus, Research questions and Community actions • Expected Outcomes and research sources • Presentation format

  7. Make Sure to… • include all criteria asked for • So what is next?

  8. Brainstorming • What are your passions? • These can be turned in to research projects? • Do already have TQT research? Or other Research you can add to? • Is there a community or college program you can join as part of your physical?
