MASTER CHEF ARENA’S FIRST CHALLENGE The 25-year-old Western left the Master Chef competition after failing to impress in a game of chicken that she and fellow contestant Shannon Smyth were faced with after losing the team challenge to impress guest judge Nigella Lawson. It was Arena’s first elimination challenge ever

  2. It was pretty devastating because I’d never been in an elimination challenge before, but things are positive now and I’m working full-time in our family shop, Absolutely Organic. We’ve just installed a kitchen, so that’ll be up and running in a couple of weeks. It’s just the luck of the game. I mean, I was putting up average dishes or really good dishes, whereas some people were putting up consistently bad dishes, but that’s not what it’s about. It’s about what happens on the day.

  3. It’s a really horrible way to do elimination. Everyone was just sitting there and waiting. I think Shannon volunteered because she felt responsible for the rib roast. Who knows with the cupcakes! I didn’t even put them in the oven, somebody else did and then they ended up staying in there for 50 minutes, so of course they’re going to be burnt. In the house, we all grew really close so quickly and you want to stay friends – you don’t want to make enemies – but, sometimes, it’s hard to refrain from having a big fall-out.

  4. Danielle [Dixon] or Danni [Venn]. Everyone is so skilled. She was just on set to taste our food. She had quite a tight schedule, and the only advice she gave us was what everyone saw while she tasted our food. He cooks, and is into cooking as much as me, and everyone has been saying, ‘Hey, you should go on next year’s Master Chef!’ We’re pretty much running my parents’ shop full-time; it’s fun.
