Classroom Expectations for Mrs. Candace Black’s Physical Science Class (2010-2011)

Welcome to Mrs. Black's Physical Science class at Moses Middle School! This year, we have five essential expectations: Be respectful of others, enter class quietly, come prepared, remain seated, and be on time. These non-negotiables ensure a conducive learning environment. Respect fosters positive relationships; quiet entry allows everyone to focus; preparedness enhances participation; remaining in your assigned seat promotes discipline; and being on time maximizes learning opportunities. Let’s work together to create a successful classroom experience!

  1. Classroom Expectations Mrs. Candace Black Moses Middle School Physical Science 2010 - 2011

  2. Mrs. Black’s Five Non-Negotiables 1. Be respectful of others. 2. Enter class quietly. 3. Come prepared. 4. Remain seated. 5. Be on time.

  3. Be Respectful of others • When we are respectful everything else will fall into place… • …we are considerate of others • …we also realize that we, as individuals and as a group, are representing others such as our families, friends, school, church, athletic organizations, etc. • Sometimes it helps to ask yourself what would mom, dad, grandma, my pastor, or coach think of me if he/she/they knew about or even saw what I’m doing right now? Just a thought…

  4. Enter Class Quietly • When entering class you should do so calmly and quietly. • Take care of “business” such as sharpening pencils, taking out paper, notebooks, pens/pencils, etc. • Begin “Bell Work” generally found displayed by the overhead projector, LCD projector, or written on the marker board.

  5. Come To Class Prepared • Bring all necessary materials to class in order to participate successfully. • You are responsible for you!! No one else is responsible for supplying you with paper, pen, or pencil. If your supply is getting low make a note in your agenda to remind your parents that you need more. • Make sure homework is completed at home---not in someone else’s class and not in this class unless you have permission from the teacher.

  6. Remain Seated • You have assigned seats. You will always have assigned seats in this class. • If you need to get something from another area of the room—ask permission before leaving your seat. This privilege can lost if it is abused. Leaving your seat to get a tissue and then disturbing classmates in the process will not be tolerated---even if the classmate doesn’t mind. • KEEP PERSONAL ITEMS SUCH AS PURSES AND BOOK BAGS UNDER YOUR SEAT/TABLE .

  7. BE ON TIME • There is a limited amount of time given for each class. When you are late it is your time that you are wasting. Class assignments not completed during class will be considered homework. • USE YOUR CLASS TIME WISELY!!!
