  3. THINK ABOUT IT When graphing linear inequalities, instead of using open and closed circles, we will be using solid and dotted lines. Which of the following inequalities would be solid and which would be dotted? > < ≥ ≤ Dotted Dotted Solid Solid

  4. Ex 1: Graph y < 2x - 3 Plot the points to make a line Draw a solid or dotted line Shade in the appropriate side Check your work by substituting in an ordered pair from the shaded region.

  5. Ex 2A: Graph 4x - 2y ≥ 4 using slope-intercept form Solve for y. Plot the points to make a line Draw a solid or dotted line Shade in the appropriate side Check your work by substituting in an ordered pair from the shaded region.

  6. Ex 2B: Graph 4x - 2y ≥ 4 using x- and y-intercepts Substitute 0 in for y and solve for x. Plot on x-axis. Substitute 0 in for x and solve for y. Plot on y-axis. Shade in appropriate side of line.

  7. Ex 3: Recreation • A recreation center offers various 30-minute and 60-minute art classes. The recreation director has allotted up to 20 hours per week for art classes. • Write an inequality to represent the number of classes that can be offered per week. Graph the inequality. • Can the recreation director schedule 25 of the 30-minute classes and 15 of the 60-minute classes during a given week? Explain your reasoning.
