Learning Outcomes • To develop a street dance phrase by adding canon and changing the facings • To link your original street dance phrase to your developed phrase focusing on fluency • To observe a developed street dance phrase and provide constructive feedback as to how the phrase could be improved in relation to the fluency
In your Dance crews, you need to recap and link all of your dance phrases together from last lesson. Person A – Teach phrase Person B – Teach phrase Person C – Teach phrase Person D – Teach phrase Person E – Teach phrase You should now have a street dance which is between 20 and 40 counts long.
Development time - Canon Now develop your street dance phrase by adding in canon from the start. Dancer A starts 4 counts later Dancer B starts 4 counts later Dancer C starts 4 counts later Dancer D starts 4 counts later Dancer E starts.
Development time - Facings Now develop your street dance phrase by getting your dancers to face in different directions: USF SRF DSF SLF Key: SRF - Stage Right Facing DSF - Down Stage Facing USF - Up Stage Facing SLF - Stage Left Facing
Observation Time Watch another Dance crew perform the Street Dance Phrase. Provide them with constructive feedback on their: • Timing • Accuracy
