  2. Gerund • After prepositions (of, in, at, for...) Ex.: She is talking about exercising. • After: To look forward to and To be used to Ex.: I’m looking forward to having my birthday party. They are used to waking up early.

  3. Pay attention!!! • Used to = costumava John used totravel every day. • To be used to = estar acostumado Mary is used to playing cricket.

  4. • After: to be worth, It’s no good = it’s no use Ex.: This film is worth watching. It’s no good/It’s no use making an scandal.

  5. • After: Can’t help, can’t stand, feel like Ex.: I can’t help eating chocolate everyday. Everybody can’t stand working too much. Jason feels like drinking coke.

  6. After some verbs → book page 62. • Some verbs accept gerund and infinitive verbs after them → book page 62.

  7. • Subject of the sentence: Ex.: Drinking water everyday is important. • Changing the noun: Ex.: They are dancing shoes. • Adjective: Ex.: This is na interesting magazine.

  8. • After my, the, his... Ex.: Does my reading bother you? • After NO Ex.: No swimming! • Go + verb-ing Ex.: I go biking to school.

  9. Infinitive (uses without to) • With auxiliary verbs (do/es – did – will - would) Ex.: Would you bring me a cup of water? • With modal verbs (could – should – can...) Ex.: She can speak English.

  10. Pay Attention!!! • The verbs NEED and DARE are regular and modal verbs: Ex: People don’t need violence. = People needn’t violence.

  11. • After let (permitir) and make (fazer com que) Ex.: Letmehelp you. My mother madeherwear a coat.

  12. • After except and but (exceto) Ex.: She reads nothing butwatch TV. • Read CLICK page 66.
