  3. What has happened since our last update? • Hired 27 math TNCore coaches for the East TN region • Training in April and May • TNCore Focus standards release • TCAP “cut” SPIs released last week www.tncore.org Questions: tncore.questions@tn.gov

  4. What things are to come? • Principal Core Applications • Grades 3-8 Math transition • Grades K-2 transition • Grades 3-12 ELA transition • Video updates • Grades 9-12 Math transition & Specialized Disciplines www.tncore.org Questions: tncore.questions@tn.gov

  5. Principal Core Coach Applications • Information has been sent out • Due May 14 (notified by May 25) • Attend training June 11-12 or June 18-19 • East TN to hire 12 Principal Core coaches • Stipend of $1500 www.tncore.org Questions: tncore.questions@tn.gov

  6. Grades 3-8 Math Transition • Last day for schools to register May 9 (numbers and location) • May 14- Second phase of registration • Trainings on Tuesday-Thursdays in July • July 10-12 • July 17-19 • July 24-26 • Grainger County, William Blount and Vine Middle www.tncore.org Questions: tncore.questions@tn.gov

  7. Grades 3-8 Math Transition • Superintendent & Supervisors • Select to go to 3 days of training in July OR • Webinar in June to give general overview of the training www.tncore.org Questions: tncore.questions@tn.gov

  8. Grades K-2 Transition • June 1 Focus Standards for Math will be released • Focus Group Meetings- May 9 for East TN to discuss “lessons learned” – Field Service Center www.tncore.org Questions: tncore.questions@tn.gov

  9. Grades 3-12 ELA Transition • Information has been emailed to interested districts • One person from district to email list of schools • Training June 21 or 22 in East TN • ELA Council to be developed by region www.tncore.org Questions: tncore.questions@tn.gov

Video Updates • April 23- Overview of TN Implementation plan • May 16- Math Instructional shifts & Overview of Focus Standards • July 2- K-2 & 3-12 ELA • Math focus standards, content & practices: August 1, October 1, January 1 • Videos on new Math courses: Bridge Math (June 25) and Finite Math (August 1) www.tncore.org Questions: tncore.questions@tn.gov
