  1. Welcome To Kindergarten Curriculum Night!

  2. Uniforms • Boys- navy blue pants/shorts and uniform shirt. • Girls- school jumper or navy blue shorts and uniform shirt. (Please have girls wear shorts under their jumper year round…sometimes it is hard to be lady-like when you are five.) • Socks of proper color. • Gym shoes are best (no lights, wheels, boots, or sandal/open style shoes).

  3. Mass • Every Friday at 8:00 A.M. • Students must wear traditional St. Ann’s School uniform (long pants for boys, jumpers for girls). • Students may change to “warm day” uniforms after Mass.

  4. Curriculum • Religion • Language Arts • Math • Science • Social Studies • Art • Music • Physical Education • Spanish • Computer

  5. Homework • Simple Solutions Math • Simple Solutions Language Arts • Sight Words • Skills Practice • Prayer Practice • Functional Living Skills

  6. Specials • Computer class Mondays and Wednesdays for 35 minutes. • Music classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 30 minutes. • Physical Education classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 30 minutes. • Spanish class on Mondays And Fridays for 30 minutes.

  7. Saint Ann Catholic School is using the Option C Learning Management System for students grades 1 – 8 and their parents. This system provides an online homeroom for students and parents to retrieve information, such as: Nightly homework assignments Class schedules Attendance records Grades School calendars Account balances Log In to Option C at: www.optionc.com

  8. Report Cards First quarter there will be a Transition Into Kindergarten Progress Report rather than a traditional Saint Ann Catholic School Report Card. For the second, third, and fourth quarters a traditional Saint Ann Catholic Report Card will be utilized. Please note, since Option C is for grades 1 – 8 there will be no grades entered into Option C during the school year. There will be quite a bit of information about this coming home in your student’s yellow folder concerning this. Please be sure to read this information.

  9. Home/School Communication Our first line of communication is through your child’s yellow folder. Please be sure it is returned to school each day. If there are forms to fill out, informational flyers, save the dates, or any other information you need it will come home in the yellow folder. E-mail or phone calls would the second line of communication. Please do not hesitate to call or e-mail with questions or concerns. Option C is also a great resource for you as a parent in grades 1 - 8!

  10. Top Banana • Get to bring in one item from home each day to share with the class. • A poster made by the class to celebrate each student. • Parent or special friend can come visit in the classroom and have lunch with you. (Please do not bring fast food lunches.) • Special prize at the end of the week just for being you!

  11. Cookie Caterers • 2 – 3 times per year. • One very large sized (think Sam’s Club size) or 3 normal or family sized snacks. • No candy. • I will let you know of any food allergies as soon as possible.

  12. Food Allergies • I NEED to know of any and all known food allergies as soon as possible!!! • Please fill out and return the bright orange Food Allergy” form BEFORE you leave this afternoon.

  13. The 3 No Excuse Rules • We will not hit, kick, push, pinch, or spit on our friends. • We will not yell at or talk back to ANY grown-up. • We will not leave the classroom without asking for permission first.

  14. Class Rules • We will make our class rules together the first week of school. • By making our own special set of rules we know we can all follow the class rules.

  15. Consequences • Move your name clip to yellow or red. • Loss of recess time. • Phone call home. • Write letter of apology.

  16. Rewards • Piece of candy at the end of the day. • Visit to the treasure chest on Mondays. • Receive a Warm Fuzzy. • Receive a Pebble of Faith. • Verbal praise. • Receive a Love Note. • Extra recess, visit to the park, movie day…
