Cannibalism, or anthropophagy, is the practice of humans consuming human flesh, with its history dating back over 780,000 years to ancient Spain. Today, only the Korowai tribe in the Congo continues this practice, raising questions about its future amidst cultural influences. Cannibalism can arise from cultural norms, extreme famine, or social deviance. Notably, the 1972 Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 incident highlights survival cannibalism. While some view it as abhorrent, perspectives on its morality vary greatly across cultures and situations.
