Math Placement for 7 th Grade

This guide outlines the 7th-grade math placement assessment, consisting of three key components: 1) IAAT (Iowa Algebra Aptitude Test) during the week of February 24th, no calculators allowed; 2) Pre-Algebra Indicator Test scheduled for late April or early May; 3) Evaluation based on grades from the first three marking periods and teacher recommendations. Each component is scored out of 100 points, and the average of these scores will determine your placement for next year. No study materials are available, as some content will be unfamiliar.

  3. Timed Test 4 Sections No calculators It will have material that is unfamiliar to you. No way to study for this test. IAAT Week of February 24th

  4. Multiple Choice Material that you should know. 1 period to take the test. No calculators. Pre-Algebra Indicator Test Late April or early May

  5. 1st MP Grade 2nd MP Grade 3rd MP Grade Teacher Recommendation Each is worth a possible 100 points. The average of the 4 scores will be used. First 3 Marking Period Grades & Teacher Recommendation

  6. The 3 items will be added together to give you a score. • You will not be given any scores to the test. • You will receive a letter in late May indicated your math placement for next year.
