  2. Diocletian’s Palace • Diocletian Palace is one of the best preserved monuments of the Roman architecture in the world. It was built as a combination of a luxury villa and a Roman camp  between the late 3rd and the early 4th century.

  3. When you mention the word Palace in Split, everyone thinks about the Diocletian's Palace. • It's the main city landmark, and actually the city itself, the only heritage site in the world that is still inhabited.

  4. Through rich and turbulent history of Split, many noble families built their residences here so today, the area within the walls of the Palace contains Romanesque churches, medieval fortifications, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque palaces.

  6. The Little Papalic palace Its terrestrial parts date from the 13th century and it was rebuilt again in the 15 century in the late Gothic style. .

  8. The Cindro palace This is one of the finest examples of baroque residential architecture in Split. On the ground floor of the palace there is a spacious atrium and facade breaks down a series of windows and balconies with baroque stone fence.
