  1. Lab 4: Photosynthesis – WRITE THIS DOWN!!! • Dye-reduction technique….. • -Tests that light & chloroplasts are needed for light reactions to occur • DPIP replaces NADP+ as the final electron acceptor • DPIP becomeswhen reduced (gaining electrons) • Color change can be measured with spectrophotometer • Experiment • Set wavelength to 605 • Prepare cuvettes from Table 4.3 (Don’t add chloroplasts….yet) • Blank spec (INSTRUCTIONS ON SPEC!!!) • Add chloroplasts & invert 2X to mix • Place in spec & record for time 0 minutes • Place in front of light • Record at 5 minute intervals

  2. 20 drops = 1 mL Add chloroplasts LAST

  3. 1) Title • 2) Prelab • Materials List ONLY • 3) Purpose • 4) Personal Account • “If, then” hypothesis w/ indep. & dep. variable, procedure, data table, graph • 5) Discussion (from lab sheet, including 2nd experimental design) • 6) Conclusion
